Shooting Club in Brittany France - Pontivy
I've been a member of the same shooting club in Brittany France for several years now. It's one of the fastest growing clubs in France, partly due to this site.
(Reply to Mark - It clearly states above 'one of the fastest growing clubs in France' - obviously there maybe some faster growing start up gun clubs percentage wise, never the less, the club in Pontivy is one of the fastest growing gun clubs in France and has been established far longer than your club and has far more members. So I will leave the text unchanged.)
The shooting club has a great mix of local French and English residents, some coming from far and wide to visit the club because it's one of the most friendly shooting clubs in Brittany.
Shooting club in Brittany Facilities
The club sports a fully indoor 10m range for air pistols, 2 25m ranges each catering for 4 to 5 shooters and a 50m range for rifle shooting. There is a special 50m section which has extra sound proofing to allow for full bore shooting without upsetting the shooting club neighbours.
Shooting club in Brittany Membership
Members that want to have category 1 and 4 firearms like hand guns, military calibre rifles and semi auto rifles must have their cards stamped at least three time a year. At the Pontivy shooting club we normally stamp cards on the first weekend of each month. Sundays have someone available normally for just the morning to stamp shooting cards.
The gun club is part of the FFT Federation Francais de Tir and all shooting in the gun club should be to the FFT rules and regulations.

Shooting club in Brittany Safety
Happily the Pontivy gun club in Brittany France has not had any accidents and maintains an excellent safety record, despite its relaxed nature. Having said this, there was a problem once, while some rescue services decided to practice a helicopter rescue by lowering someone down a rope into the quarry, right at the wrong end of the shooting range!!! Happily despite ear defenders the shooters present that day heard the helicopter and put their guns down.
Shooting club in Brittany Access
The shooting club is in central Brittany and easy to get to as it is only a couple of km from the center of Pontivy.
The shooting club is open to members every day of the week, we don't shoot at lunch times and after 5pm so as to let the Brittany gun club neighbours have some quiet time in their gardens without the sound of enthusiastic shooting.
