Not a wind-up or a joke, it seems to be a serious possibility that wolves are present in Brittany.
There has been talk about reintroducing wolves in the past, wonder though if this is an escaped animal or animals, lots in zoos. Bit like the beast of bodmin, the loup of Locmine!
Doing a bit more research, it seems that the organisation is looking for any evidence that a wolf or wolves is present in Brittany by investigating unexplained kills of deer, sheep etc.
Oooooo so like the Beast of Bodmin the Loup of Locmine could be an animal which has escaped from captivity. Will look more myself, always ike these unexplained stories.
The professional trackers of the ODL know that the current signs are that of wild wolves moving east to west in france originating from Italy and Germany - so not escaped zoo or wildlife park animals.
April 2018: Track up in the Scorff Valley. (Morbihan)
June 2018: Predation on deer on the commune of Bubry (Morbihan)
July 2018: an observation selected, at night, on a departmental road east of the Paimpont forest.
August 2018: Predation and likely scavenging in the town of Pontivy.
September 2018: observation on Guerlédan (70 seconds) and dissection of a large canine feces (see the video)
We yelled ( played recordings at high volume of wolf calls to provoke a response from any wolves in the locality) provocatively, the wolf is no longer on the defined sector. The calls were received because many dogs responded (barking for 20/25 minutes)
I shared a link on the 23rd on our Facebook page about the wolves funnily enough - https://www.ouest-france.fr/bretagne/vannes-56000/le-loup-de-retour-en-bretagne-apres-un-siecle-d-absence-5981880 We have deer around us so will keep an eye & ear out around Trélivan for any sightings
